Use to relieve:
- Acute worsening of chronic lung disease, Sinusitis and Inner Ear Infections: Take 250–500 mg every six to eight hours for 10 days.
- Chlamydia infections: Take 500 mg twice a day for seven days.
- Syphillis: Take 500 mg four times a day for 14 days.
Children’s use: Side effects limit use in children. Take 30–50 mg per kg body weight per day divided every six to eight hours.
Side effects and precautions: nausea, diarrhea, indigestion, vomiting, abdominal pain, and rash. Use only in emergencies if patient has liver disease. Not to be used during pregnancy (see package insert for complete list of side effects and contraindications).
