Famciclovir

Use to Relieve Herpes attacks:
- For first episode: Take 250 mg three times daily for 7 to 10 days.
- For recurrent outbreaks: Take 125 mg twice daily for five days.
- To suppress outbreaks: Take 250 mg twice daily for up to one year.
Children’s use: Consult physician
Side effects and precautions: nausea, vomiting, headache, diarrhea, and fatigue. Use with caution in patients with kidney disease (see package insert for complete list of side effects and contraindications).
