Jim Cochran - Inguinal Hernia Testimonial
I needed to have hernia surgery for over a year. After checking around with the hospitals in my town and finding out that it was going to cost me $10,000 (I don’t have health insurance), a colleague of mine recommended Mexico Medical tourism. After doing extensive research, I contacted Robert at MedToGo International. He set me up with Dr. Joya at Amerimed in Puerto Vallarta. Then I thoroughly researched Dr. Joya (gotta love Google) and booked my flight and surgery. Family members questioned me about going to Mexico for surgery. I told them that the doctors don’t wear sombreros and use machetes. I assured them that this was a state of the art hospital and that Dr. Joya was well qualified.
I was very impressed with the facilities. Everyone spoke English and were very professional and caring. The surgery went great and I was on my way out of the hospital a few hours later. I can’t recommend Dr. Joya, Amerimed or MedToGo enough! All of my questions were answered and their level of professionalism was better than I’ve seen at some of the doctors offices in my area.
If you’re on the fence about having surgery with Dr. Joya in Puerto Vallarta, jump off and do it. You even get a little vacation out of the trip if you get there a few days before your surgery. Don’t try to rush back to the States right away, give yourself a few days to relax and recover after the surgery.

I realized I had a hernia and after the initial shock it was easy to live with it since I really couldn’t feel any discomfort. As the years wore on however, not only did the bulge get larger, I did begin to feel some discomfort.
It this point I began to inquire about surgery.» read more
