Lap Band Surgery – On January 30, 2009, I traveled to Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico, where I underwent Lap band surgery, performed by Dr. Armando Joya. For this surgery I went through MedToGo International, which is run by Dr. Robert Page of Phoenix, Arizona.

I was terrified to say the least, but when I met Dr. Page he reassured me that Dr. Joya was a fantastic doctor and one of the best surgeons in his field.

While performing my surgery, Dr. Joya discovered that I had a hiatal hernia, which he repaired for me at no extra cost. How many doctors do you know that would do this for you?

I cannot praise Dr. Joya and his staff enough – not only did I receive fantastic care while at the hospital, but even after my Lap Band Surgery Dr. Joya and his staff followed up with visits to my hotel and phone calls once I returned home. The hospital where my Lap band surgery was performed was immaculate. The staff and the care that I received was top notch.

When my neighbor found out that I was going down to Mexico for lap band surgery, he said that if I (Deanna) could do it so could he. He went down 2 weeks later and had the same Lap Band Surgery. We are both doing great!

I would also like to thank Dr. Robert Page for all his phone calls to check up on me and my well being after my surgery.
