Zithromax™
Azitromicina
(Azithromycin)
Use to relieve:
- Acute worsening of chronic lung disease, sinusitis, inner ear infections. For any of the above, take two 250 mg tablets on day one, followed by one tablet each day for four more days (five days total therapy).
- Chlamydia infection: Take one gram by mouth one time only.
Children’s use: For children over six months, take 10 mg per 2.2 pounds body weight on first day followed by 5 mg per 2.2 pounds body weight on days two to five (five days total therapy).
Side effects and precautions: diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, rash, dizziness, vomiting. Not to be used with astemizole or terfenadine. Use caution with liver disease. Not recommended in pregnancy (see package insert for complete list of side effects and contraindications).
